Zeolite Water Treatment

Sand, like granular substances, has been used for ages to remove impurities from polluted waters. However, researchers have now found that Zeolite, in its all-natural pure form, is more effective in removing pollutants from drinking water, industrial wastewater, and other water supplies. Contaminants, both living and nonliving, are removed before the water is characterized as drinking pure water.

The conventional water treatment methods like purification plants, foam floating coagulation, micro-filtration, and other industrial and expensive plant methods are too heavy on the pocket, and this renders small and underdeveloped areas from healthy pure drinking water. Zeolite water treatment with its natural absorbent property is cost worthy and all-natural.

Zeolite, due to its absorption and absorption effects, is the treatment of choice for many researchers. Absorption of the pollutants is the best and most convenient method for filtration and purification of water because it is natural needs no specialized apparatus and pocket friendly. Ammonia and heavy metals, along with other contaminants, are absorbed naturally and don’t leak as well by Zeolite.

The surface area of any mineral or substance used for filtration plays a significant role. Greater the surface area of the absorbent great is it's absorbing power. Zeolite water treatment is preferred over other sand material treatments because Zeolite has many folds greater surface area than sand. Hence its absorbent effect is a thousand times greater than other absorbents that were formerly used.

Major Benefits Of Zeolite Water Treatment:

Zeolite, due to its natural porous structure, efficiently traps all heavy metals and hazardous compounds like ammonia and other cations by the ion-exchange mechanism. It makes strong covalent bonds with them that prevent them from leaking once absorbed. Clinoptilolite has more affinity for ammonia and other dangerous cations and can selectively filter cations even when there are other ions present.

Benefits:

· Cost friendly.

· Selective heavy metal and Cation affinity.

· Much greater surface area.

· More absorption capacity.

· Organic substances removal.

· No friction.

· Removes moisture as well.

· It decreased backwash cycles.

· They are generally regarded as nontoxic and safe for living organisms.

· Better than sand.

· Environmentally friendly and contains no artificial additives.

Applications:

1. Drinking water:

Softens water by removing heavy metals: chlorine and Iron removal. Removes ammonia and increases pH, reduces acidity. Zeolite water treatment is better than sand and other absorbents in rising water clarity and eliminating pollutants.

2. Aquariums:

As Zeolite is safe for any kind of biological life, it can be used in Aquariums to control ammonia levels. Maintains pH and remove organic compounds and heavy metals.

It prevents fungal and algae from growing in tanks. Zeolite is not used in saltwater aquariums.

3. Pools and Hot tubs:

It removes skin and eye irritants. Sloughed of skin cells, bacteria, and other human wastes are removed. Prevents the growth of disease-causing and other microorganisms. Leaching of contaminants is stopped, and smell in water is controlled.

4. Water Management after storms:

Zeolite soaks up metals that don’t degrade on their own. Oils and fuel components are also filtered. It has efficient and fast filtration and absorption capabilities.

5. Mines:

Mine water contains a significant number of heavy metals that cause pollution and odor. Zeolite absorbs and makes strong bonds with these metals and ammonium compounds, this filters and prevents them from leaking back into the water. Prevents this hard water from entering underground water reserves. Controls odor as well.
